Nokia Money

Nokia introduceert Nokia Money, een dienst waarmee mobiel kan worden betaald op basis van je eigen telefoonnummer. De dienst wordt geleidelijk uitgerold vanaf begin 2010. Zo meldt The Wall Street Journal.


De technologie van Nokia Money is afkomstig van Obopay, waarin Nokia in 2009 een belang heeft genomen. Met Obopay kunnen gebruikers mobiel geld overmaken via sms, browser of applicatie.

Nokia Money wordt opengesteld voor ontwikkelaars en moet ook werken in combinatie met andere systemen. Verder hoopt het bedrijf samenwerkingen aan te gaan met operators en banken.

Ook wil Nokia een wereldwijd netwerk opzetten van agenten waar mensen geld kunnen opnemen of storten. Het bedrijf ziet vooral in buitengebieden toekomst voor de betaaldienst. Nokia Money wordt officieel gepresenteerd tijdens de Nokia World conferentie begin september in Stuttgart.
